I made another flapper girl doll with the same pattern I created for the first one. I used some of the scraps from the Plain Spoken quilt top I made for my yet-to-be-born neice, Emerson Rose. The beads on her boots are made from Sculpey and she has a cloth-covered button I made on her hat and some embroidery on her dress.
Now that I’ve completed two dolls from this pattern I see where it could be tweaked a bit. I’d like to add a strip of fabric on the underside of her skirt, where her legs are attached. This would make her sit more easily and her legs would hang straighter, I think. I like that she is stuffed more firmly than the first one – she feels really solid.
I going back to making some animals now. I can only make so many dolls and then I crave making little creatures again – they are more forgiving I think.

I wanted to let you know that I used your flapper girl in my “Wednesday Inspiration” post on my blog. I haven’t figured out the trackback thing yet but I think I can use that to notify people when I use their stuff???? I will try to figure it out for future post. By the way she is gorgeous.
